Bloxit by Godrej Agrovet is a selective, systemic post-emergence herbicide formulated with Halosulfuron Methyl 75% WG. It effectively controls Cyperus rotundus and Cyperus iria (nutgrass and sedges) in sugarcane, maize, and bottle gourd crops.

Mode of Action

Bloxit works by inhibiting Acetolactate Synthase (ALS), an essential enzyme for amino acid synthesis in weeds. This causes nutrient starvation and eventually the death of the weed. In crops like sugarcane and maize, Bloxit is safe because these plants naturally degrade the herbicide through MFO enzymes (Mixed Function Oxidases).
